THOUGHT AT WORK 2017
Thought At Work is a 3-day, completely student-run design conference held annually at Rochester Institute of Technology. For 2017’s conference, I was on the graphics team along with Dasha Buduchina. This meant creating the visual style direction for the conference, posters and social media images, and all other printed collateral.
Title sequence by Alec Burns, Kevin Geary, Emily Kordovich, Erin Effinger, and Caleb Payne, with assistance from Darrin Loelinger and Christine Van. Music by Riki Mistry.
The 2017 conference's style direction was inspired by our process of abstraction and experimentation. We created imagery with laser-cut materials, projection, and reflection, and the documentation of this turned into a collection of striking visuals.
STYLE GUIDE
Because we had a large general team working on materials for the event, the graphics team had to make sure all digital and printed materials for the conference were consistent and followed the same visual guidelines. To ensure this, we created a style guide that included specifics on typefaces, colors, logo usage, and layouts.
These visuals captured the collaborative and sometimes chaotic spirit of Thought At Work. They express the interdisciplinary efforts that are channeled into a final product; in this case, an event that celebrates design education and innovation.
